Welcome to the
New Hope

At New Hope Special Support Center, helping children and adults discover how they learn best is at the heart of everything we do—and tutoring is no exception.
Our approach focuses on each individual’s strengths and challenges to make learning both effective and rewarding.

Since 1990, New Hope has been providing high-quality tutoring services to individuals of all ages.
Our certified tutors possess the educational background and specialized skills to support both children and adults in achieving academic success.

With input from our experienced educators and psychologists, tutors create individualized learning plans tailored to each student’s strengths and learning style. These plans are continually adjusted to reflect the student’s growth and mastery as they progress.

Our ultimate goal is to help students integrate effective learning strategies into their daily lives, empowering them to approach new challenges with confidence.

Overview

New Hope Special Support Center serves students with specific learning disabilities, including:

  • Dyslexia
  • Auditory or visual processing difficulties
  • Dyscalculia
  • Memory difficulties
  • Attention disorders

We support students enrolled in public or private day schools who require specialized instruction to supplement their regular educational programs.

Our center operates Monday through Friday from 2:50 PM to 6:00 PM, offering tutoring services for children, adolescents, and adults.
Each lesson is thoughtfully designed to meet the unique learning needs of the student, with frequent assessments to track progress and adapt instruction for continued success.

Process

Parents often begin this journey with many questions—how to get started, what evaluations are needed, and how their child compares to typical New Hope students.

To begin, we require a recent neuropsychological evaluation (within the past 18 months), including the WISC-V and measures of academic achievement.
In most cases, a recent language evaluation is also needed.
Additionally, a completed online application must be submitted before we can review a student’s case.

Students We Serve

New Hope Special Support Center addresses the individual needs of a wide range of students, including:
  • Students with learning difficulties
  • Students at risk academically
  • Students who need a flexible schedule due to health concerns
  • Students seeking academic advancement
The Tutoring Plan

Tutors at New Hope use test results, along with input from parents, teachers, and students, to develop a personalized tutoring plan.
This plan:

  • Matches the student’s learning style
  • Identifies specific skills to be developed
  • Outlines tutoring strategies and methods
  • Specifies the teaching tools and materials to be used

Lessons are designed to build on each student’s strengths and interests, making learning as engaging, meaningful, and satisfying as possible.
As students grow, the tutoring plan evolves to meet their changing needs and continued development.
